The minuscule hybrid bud, once bursting with potential, had endured only four fleeting days, four days of meticulous watering, four days of vigilant observation, and four days steeped in hope.

Now, it drooped sadly against its slender stem, its delicate petals fraying at the edges, darkening as if singed by an unseen flame. For a long moment, he stood frozen, eyes locked on its fragile form, surrounded by the serene silence of the forest. The air buzzed softly with the melodious tunes of birds hidden among the branches, while dewdrops sparkled like tiny gems on the nearby roses, contrasting the loss he felt in that quiet dawn.
